Last reviewed: June 2026. A coax internet connection can be fast and reliable, but aging connectors, splitters, damaged cable, weak signal levels, or modem issues can create intermittent problems.

What to inspect

Check for loose fittings, corroded connectors, unnecessary splitters, bent cable, water exposure, damaged wall plates, poor grounding, and modem event logs that show recurring signal or sync problems.

When to schedule service

If speeds fluctuate, video calls drop, the modem reboots, or service becomes unreliable at certain times of day, an onsite coax assessment can separate inside-wiring issues from provider-side problems.

A & G Internet Services can test coax cabling, document likely trouble points, and help prepare a clear handoff for Spectrum or another provider if the outside plant needs attention.
